Once you have prepared the seeds for their plantation, you have to find the correct soil that helps the plants grow. It is best to mix 60% of garden soil and 40% of organic compost. Next, you have to use a pot or a tray that contains an ample number of drainage holes. If there is a lack of drainage, it will lead to mold growth and eventually cause the death of plants. Next, you have to fill the tray with soil and then place the sprouted seeds in it.
After that, you have to place it under indirect sunlight and ensure that you water the plants daily. However, ensure that you are not overwatering the plant, which is yet another concern. You can cover the seeds with newspaper, which would help the plants to grow. It would take around five to six days for the wheatgrass to mature. Harvesting Wheatgrass
As mentioned, you can harvest wheatgrass after four to five days, and then you can plant the next batch. You can harvest wheatgrass when it is around four inches tall. Since it would be young, the wheatgrass would be tender and mild in flavor, which would make it juicer. You can cut it using a pair of scissors. However, ensure that you are cutting wheatgrass from above the roots. You can also let the wheatgrass grow for a second harvest. But, it might not be as nutritious as the first harvest.
